first day on the road

we got on the road early tuesday morning, and took off around 630. the car was packed up to the top and the kids were snug in their car seats......the great american road trip!

we made it to tahoe, and had then discovered a flat tire, ugh!!

it ended up being okay, and ryder was quite interested, then we were on the road, again!

good-bye sharp family!

we had the opportunity to stay with the sharp family, once again, and like last time, it was wonderful!! they became our california family, and we feel lucky to have them in our lives.

sally and lindsey working hard on the kids cards. they sent along a few gifts (and a very sweet card) so they each had something new and special when the road trip was starting to get old:) we broke it out right before we left boulder, we needed something awesome to get through nebraska!

ryder got so good with the "standard" hopscoth, he insisted on making one to 20, whew, that's a workout!

aunt tessa

well, we finally had to say good-bye to aunt tessa, something none of us wanted to do! she became such a wonderful addition to our little city family, and we created many memories of our time together here. she was more than an aunt, a sister, a babysitter; she was our friend, a very dear friend that we will truly miss.

farewell beach bonfire

we decided to invite all our city friends to ocean beach for one last celebration, a beach bonfire! it was one big beach party out there. people everywhere, music in the air, the smell of the ocean breeze, and lots of crackling bonfires....what a way to leave san francisco!!!

the sun has arrived in cali

this past week has been so beautiful here, 75 and sunny, just how we like it! quinn was just basking in the sun after a dip in the warm pool.

dan zanes in berkeley!

we finally had the opportunity to see one of our favorite musicians, dan zanes, in berkeley none the less. wow, what a wonderful experience for the kids, their very first concert;) ryder was so impressed with the show he was in awe, and quinn, well she got a bit over stimulated and fell asleep half way through! jesse and i had a great time and just enjoyed the entire scene.
