spring soccer

soccer has started again, and we have one guy that is super pumped about that:) he practices with his team on wednesday evening, and the games are on saturday morning....a pretty laid back schedule. i just love his team, they have been together for three years now, and are really starting to figure out how to work as a team! these pandas play hard, and are in it to win it, for sure, but they also know the importance of passing to a teammate, and not always going for the individual kill, they run at each other and give out hugs when they make a goal (that's my favorite part....it's so sweet!!), and they (with lots of healthy reminders from the coaches/parents) are really good sportsmen! ryder LOVES soccer, and has a smile on his face every time he's on the field, which then makes jesse and i smile while we watch him:)

dinner and a movie

last friday night the kids and i decided to celebrate friday night with dinner and movie. with it being spring, artichokes were looking delicious at the market, so we cooked up a few for dinner. since jesse was not eating with us, it's easier to just be content with a "snacky" kind of dinner. we had a few different cheeses (mahon, and drunken goat), french bread, a fresh strawberry shake (strawberries from the market, good whole milk, and local yummy strawberry ice cream....so so good), and of coarse, our artichokes. the kids LOVED dinner, and it was so much fun to just graze. this made us all super excited for all the produce that will be showing up soon at the farmers market...yay!!!

may day.

may 1st snuck up on me this year, i think it does every year, but my kids won't let me forget our wonderful tradition....which is delivering may day flowers for our neighbors. when we woke up at 7am, the kids were  frantic to figure out how we were going to get flowers, make baskets, deliver them, and still get to school on time....within a few minutes they had a plan devised, it was simple, but it was so sweet! they picked a few of our daffodils from our backyard, we made simple little hanging bags from our paper collection (one perk of being a crafty mom), and they were ready for the delivery. we had so many secret thank yous from our neighbors....it's a tradition that is loved by everyone!
