deep in thought

new favorite "thing to do": sketching. so with pencil, eraser, sketch book (and quinn usually brings some pink/purple crayons), we head out to the local coffee shop, for an afternoon cappuccino and a special snack. i can only imagine how this makes jesse feel.....i find it incredibly sweet and awesome!!

i love the energy of uncle troy! it's just pure joy, and the kids eat it up like it's candy!!!

i mean look at this......hilarious, right:) quinn was hysterical....and uncle troy did get tired after running like 20 laps around the garden...ha ha!! love love love it!!!

hula hoop

hula hooping is one of those things that is fun to do, but you do look a bit silly doing it. so i thought, it was about time we had one in our backyard!!

ryder thought it would be sooo easy, but then he realized you actually need to move to make the hoop twirl.....he simply walked away, and was content with his first try (we'll see how he progresses through the summer)

quinn on the other hand, was givin er'....she focused, she twirled, she even flashed the "jazz" hands....it wasn't the most coordinated i've seen, but it was her own technique....and it was amazing!!

spring break

the kids were on break last week....whew, we had so much fun, now i'm ready for some much needed rest!! lets see we first started the break with a quick trip up to birchwood, to visit the grandparents, and tiera/cohen, then went to eau claire to a water park/hotel with tiera/cohen, had an awesome and adventurous time with them....still laughing about our "hotel switch", and the coordinated, but yet super uncoordinated family cannon ball....where we all ended up landing wrong, and got hurt.

back to madison for just some fun around town. went to the zoo, the movies, played frisbee, yahtzee (i swear we've played over 1000 games here), out for breakfast, bike rides, hooked up with some friends, enjoyed a yummy easter bbq and easter treats....and just enjoyed each other. i swear we all get into a nice groove, and then break is over:( boo!!!

sometimes it's just so peaceful to watch the animals, even if it's just licking itself (i once watched a giraffe stick it's tongue in its nose, which looks crazy, you know, that huge, long black tongue, for atleast 2o minutes...luv it!!)
